While Merit didn’t choose to become a vampire or Sentinel of Cadogan House, she vowed to fight for her House and its Master, and she’s managed to forge strong alliances with powerful supernaturals across Chicago. But even though Merit has had wild adventures, this may be her deadliest yet….

A killer is stalking Chicago, preying on humans and leaving his victims with magical souvenirs. The CPD hasn’t been able to track the assailant, and as the body count rises, the city is running out of options. Vampires and humans aren’t on great terms, but murder makes for strange bedfellows. Can Merit find the killer before she becomes a target?

Author Bio

Chloe Neill is the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of the Chicagoland Vampires and Dark Elite series.

She was born and raised in the South, but now makes her home in the Midwest–just close enough to Cadogan House and St. Sophia’s to keep an eye on things. When not transcribing Merit’s and Lily’s adventures, she bakes, works, and scours the Internet for good recipes and great graphic design. Chloe also maintains her sanity by spending time with her boys–her favorite landscape photographer/husband and their dogs, Baxter and Scout. (Both she and the photographer understand the dogs are in charge.)

Chloe is represented by Lucienne Diver of The Knight Agency. Chloe is a member of the Science Fiction & Fantasy Writers of America and the Romance Writers of America.

It is so hard to pick a favorite but if I must I think I would go with Twice Bitten. At least according to my Goodreads ratings it just barely outranks the others.

  6. Carol C says:

I love all of them. The first one starts the story and we get to know everyone. Each story builds on the first one. I think Twice Bitten is my favorite because Merit and Ethan get together.

I love the whole series but my favourite would have to be hard bitten. It made me cry a lot

I really love Some girls bite because it’s the beginninf of the series and I really love Merit’s journey discovering about the vampires.

  12. Priscilla Pomeroy says:

I have to say Drink Deep because of everything that goes on in it. But I also really liked the the first book, as it introduced me to this wonderful series.

  13. Lori Hopkins says:

I have to say the first, because it is what got me hooked on the series. I was looking for something new to read, and was at the bookstore. This was right when the series started, and I have been a fan ever since! Don’t get me wrong, I love how the series has unfolded, but if it weren’t for #1, I wouldn’t love Merit and Ethan like I do!

  14. Heather W says:

Wild Things is probably my favorite in the series. I love when Ethan and Merit are together yet have hurdles that they must face. Some Girls Bite made me fall in love with the series but I like it better when the relationship starts for real.

  15. Stephanie F. says:

Drink Deep has been one of my favorites in the series. I thought it was the book in which Merit grew the most. With her loss she became stronger and more independent. It was a turning point for her.

  16. Elisabeth says:

All of the books have been great. I did really enjoy the last book wild things.

  17. Jana Morimoto says:

I love the whole series but I have to say some girls bite because it got me hooked on the series, although I haven’t read blood games yet because it just came in the mail today. Yay!

I haven’t started the series but I want to as soon as possible.

Well I love the hole series but I guess I would have to say Drink Deep so much happened, I cried I laughed and cried again both from being sad and happy.

But I really love this hole series and tell everyone I know to make sure the read it cause I know they will fall in love with it to.

    Lisa. 🙂

I must say I like them all but if I had choose one I liked more I would choose House Rules because at some point in Chapter 16 is when Ethan finally puts Lacey Sheridan in her place.
