“Again, Macy, why are you being punished?”

Macy was sitting on the end of the bed like a good submissive when Logan entered the bedroom almost an hour later. Luckily he hadn’t finished sooner. She’d taken a quick shower before donning one of his dress shirts and even answered a text from her sister.

“Because I put two sugars in your coffee instead of three.”

“Did you do that deliberately, Miss Trent? You have made coffee for me almost every day since you’ve been in my employ. And you have put one cube of sugar in my coffee each time. Why forget today?”

He stood there, watching her, his eyes flashing with fire. She didn’t know if it was anger or desire. She hoped it was desire.

“Do you know why I think you forgot, Miss Trent?”

She shook her head, unable to speak.

“I think you want to be punished. You want to feel the heat of my hand on your backside. You want to see how much you can tolerate before using your safe word, don’t you, Macy?”

He stepped back and pulled the t-shirt over his head. Next he hooked his thumbs under the waistband of his pajamas and let them slide to the floor. He wore no socks or shoes. Or underwear.

He walked over to the sitting area and placed one of the high-backed chairs in front of the mirrored closets. Taking a seat he motioned her over. “Come, stand in front of me the way you did last night.”

Macy complied, stepping in front of the chair with her back to him. She could feel her blood thrumming through her body. Even though she couldn’t comprehend the satisfaction to be had from spanking—yet—she was excited. Aroused at the thought of having Logan’s hands on her again.

Would she ever get enough of this man?

He reached out, his hands going under the tail of her shirt to trace the shape of her ass. His hands were warm, his touch firm as he stroked her soft flesh, making her tremble.

“Do you like that, Macy?”

Her breathing hitched. His touch was like a narcotic. One simple stroke and she’d do anything to have more. “Yes.”

“Unbutton my shirt.”

As soon as she’d undone the last button, he was tugging her down across his lap, her torso resting on the large curved arm of the chair. The fingers of one hand threaded through her hair, pulling the errant strands away from her face. Suddenly, she could see them in the mirror. He was watching her. Gauging her reaction.

“I want you to watch me spank you, Miss Trent,” he murmured. This was it. The thought both frightened and aroused her.

Macy watched his face, the brooding, hungry look—like a starving man offered a feast, yet afraid it was going to be snatched away before he got a taste. Fascinated by his expression as he stared raptly at her plump cheeks, she missed the rise of his hand.

To give is a virtue. But to give your very self, the ultimate bequest. Offered in love, it can be wondrous. Offered in desperation, it can be deadly.

In Book Two of this three-part epic, young and tempting Kate Simmons at last seemed to have reached a safe haven of happiness when she moved in with Neil, ambitious and persevering, both in his legal practice and his love life. Taking great care to protect his trophy and the surprise he had in mind for Kate, Neil hired security to accompany his soon-to-be fiancée on a scavenger hunt of a lifetime. As Book Three continues their saga, it is life itself that is in the balance when Kate becomes the hunted as the jilted Roger snatches his prey.

The obsessed minds of Neil and Roger now take aim squarely at each other — with a bare and exposed Kate directly in the crossfire. Knowing her very life will be the winner’s spoil, Kate stares agony in its ghastly face as it approaches for the death dance.

There is no time, no place, no safety in a war of fixation. A war in which the winner will be either the last one standing, or the last one to die.

Into the quiet village of Lindenhope comes Helen Graham, an attractive young widow and mother. Living alone with her son at Wildfell Hall, her seclusion attracts curiosity from the local people, in particular Gilbert Markham, whose interest in her is soon edged with desire—and Helen, despite herself, begins to reciprocate his love for her.

But when scandalous rumours begin to circulate about Helen’s behaviour, Gilbert is filled with anger and jealousy. Helen attempts to clear her name by offering Gilbert her diary, which reveals the dark, passionate story of her former marriage to debauched rake Arthur Huntingdon, whose sexual and sensual desires fill her with excitement and pleasure but precipitate a gradual descent into hell.

Gilbert believes he could forgive her anything, but the lies continue to spread, threatening Helen’s peace of mind and, above all, her physical safety. Will the secrets of Helen’s past get in the way of their future?

He was already in the room when I entered. I felt his hands rest on my shoulders from behind and he gave a low chuckle at my gasp of surprise. I was in my nightgown—Rachel had helped me disrobe before retiring herself—and his breath heated the nape of my neck as he teased his fingers along the silk edging. I had chosen the material deliberately. It clung to my body, the sheen of the fabric highlighting every curve.

“Would you like me to undress, Arthur?” I asked.

“No, Helen,” he answered, pressing a kiss to my shoulder and sending a chill along my spine. “I want to undress you myself.”

My heart quickened, but I held myself still as slowly he slid the gown from my shoulders. The cool air on my skin made me shiver, my nipples hardening as the soft material dropped past my waist to land lightly around my feet, exposing my naked body to his gaze. I closed my eyes, feeling conscious of my bare skin, the curls at my quim, the growing wetness inside me.

“Don’t move,” he commanded, and with his fingers he began a slow, tortuous glide along the curve of my spine. I felt one hand slide around my ribs to cup my breast, his thumb brushing against my nipple, and I was unable to suppress a moan as sparks of pleasure radiated from that tender spot. Instantly the movement was repeated, his other hand mirroring the motion until I cried out, overwhelmed by the unfamiliar sensation.

“I love that this is all so new to you, my Helen,” Arthur whispered in my ear as I let my head fall back onto his shoulder, my body weakening as he continued his sweet assault on my breasts. My knees began to tremble. I clenched my fingers tightly, aching for his hands to move lower, to touch me where I had touched myself so often while thinking of him, but afraid he would think me too wanton if I asked. So new to me, indeed! What would he think if I touched myself in front of him? Would he be surprised? No—he would not, I was sure. But he might insist on pleasuring me himself, and my clit pulsed at the thought, imagining myself on the edge of ecstasy, him removing my hands and holding them until I begged him to bring me to completion.

He slid his hands down to my hips, leaving me moaning at the loss, and turned me to face him. Before I could stop myself, I reached my hand out to touch his swollen member, which jutted towards me, almost brushing against my stomach. He groaned as I closed my hand around the tip, which was glistening and sticky with moisture, hardening farther under my touch.

How strange it was to know that I had such power, that I could bring him such pleasure with only a simple touch! I tightened my grip, feeling the skin move as I tugged, but before I could continue he had caught both my hands in his and was holding them at my waist.

“My darling,” he said, with a smile, manoeuvring me backwards as he spoke until my calves hit the edge of the bed. “If I let you do that, I shall lose all control, and that will never do. Lie back for me—let me see you waiting for me.”

Trembling, I lay back on the bed, my breath coming faster as he stood watching me, his casual gaze lowering to rest at my quim. Instinctively I parted my legs, blushing as I felt the moisture seep from inside me and dampen my folds.

The smile on his face took on a possessive, lascivious quality.

“How beautiful you are,” he whispered. Slowly he placed one knee then the other on the bed, the mattress dipping under his weight as he moved towards me. He laid one hand on my breast, my heart beating rapidly beneath.

“Arthur,” I gasped.

He lowered his head and kissed my nipple, laving it with his tongue, then trailed more kisses down my body—my ribs, my stomach, my hips—until I was trembling with anticipation. His breath rushed over my quim, and for a moment I thought he would kiss me there—oh! How I wanted that!—but instead he paused, watching me with desirous eyes, and slowly slid one finger inside me to the second knuckle.

“So pure,” he whispered, caressing me as I moaned. He reached forward with his thumb and swept it back and forth over my clit. I cried out at the sensation, my body convulsing. It was so much sweeter, so much more pleasurable than when I had touched myself, and I longed for him to continue.

“Helen,” he growled, “tell me you want this.” I recognised the words from our first kiss, and felt my heart bound and my quim tighten at the knowledge that now I could be truthful. Now I could tell him what I wanted.

“I want this, Arthur.”

“Tell me how much you want this.”

“I want this more than anything,” I moaned. His finger was still moving inside me, his thumb still applying delicious pressure, and my wetness was leaking onto his hand and the bed.

“How long have you wanted this, Helen?”

Oh, he was torturing me! “Since I first met you,” I whispered, shifting my hips to match his touch. He smiled and crooked his finger inside me, touching a spot that made me clap a hand over my mouth and shriek—the pleasure was exquisite, and I was on the verge of begging him to take me.

“Tell me what you want, and I’ll do it.”

I arched my back, aching for him. “Please, Arthur, take me.”

After his divorce, Greg Snow dedicated his life to his work as a corporate attorney in a large law firm and as a member of the board of directors of Advantage Insurance Company. He liked it that way… at least that’s what he thought until Tessa Mills entered his life.

Growing up with an alcoholic mother and never knowing her father, Tessa Mills has not had an easy life. And her relationship decisions have been less than stellar. But she’s finally making a life for herself and running her own business – a yoga studio. It’s her saving grace and that’s all she needs… until Greg Snow turns her world upside down.

Tessa and Greg have a strong attraction, but is it enough to overcome all their differences?

“I don’t want to seem like I am ungrateful for what I have.  I’ve worked hard for it.  Very hard.  And…”  Before she knew what was happening, Greg’s hand palmed the back of her head and pulled her into a kiss that sent her head spinning.  His lips were firm yet soft to the touch and he moved them expertly over her own.  His goatee tickled her skin in a lascivious way that made her wonder what it would feel like at other spots on her body.  His tongue flicked out over her lips and Tessa was unable to stifle the moan that rose up her chest.  He took that as the opportunity to move further and pushed his tongue between her lips.  Oh sweet Jesus, he tasted fantastic!  He tasted like caramel coffee.  She could get lost in his taste… in his kiss.  His experience was evident as he licked into her mouth, exploring every crevice.  His hand flexed at the back of her head before sliding down to the nape of her neck and caressing her there.   She’d never been kissed so thoroughly, so sensuously.  Her panties dampened as he took the kiss deeper and her hands gripped his shirt tightly as if it were the only way for her to keep from melting into the seat.

Beep!  Beep!  Startled back to reality by the cars honking behind them, Tessa pushed back from the kiss.  She had been so wrapped up in her verbal dribble that she hadn’t even recognized that they had been stopped at the light just before the bridge.  And then his kiss threw her into a tailspin.  She’d completely lost track of where she was.  She came to find out she was making out at a traffic light with a man she barely knew, and she was struggling to catch her breath after the make out session.

“You’d better go,” she whispered.  She could feel the blush once again spread over her face.  He looked at her closely, studying her.  Another horn honked and his hand fell from the back of her neck and rested on her knee.  He gave her a little squeeze and she watched as his lips quirked up into a gorgeous smile.
“I’ve been wanting to do that since the moment I laid eyes on you,” he said, roughly.  “And truth be told, I can’t wait to do it again.”  Tessa inhaled sharply at his words and the desire behind them.   He glanced over at her and smiled.  His grey eyes were darker than they had been earlier, and she wondered if this was the look she’d read countless times about in all the romance novels she adored.  “Where to, Tessa?” he asked.  His question brought her back to the present.

Review: Wicked Beat by Olivia Cunning

12710096My rating: sophie5star

Eric Sticks is officially one of my TOP TEN BOOK BOYFRIENDS OF ALL TIMES and his book, “Wicked Beat” is one of my absolute favorites of 2013. This is the bittersweet taste of Sinners on Tour since it’s the last one in the series (though chronologically it’s the fourth).

See, loving a rockstar is not really easy and even more a rockstar like Sticks; who is not only a troubled man with a “slight” sexual complex, but also a musical genius who doesn’t take credit of his own hard work. That’s mostly why I fell madly, deeply and stupidly in love with all 5 Sinners since the beginning. All of them have a special charm and kick and Eric ranks high in just that: being a charmer.

On the other hand, Rebekah Blake is a fighter, a superb kick ass fighter who not only won a dreadful cancer battle, but also is trying hard to prove herself as a certified soundboard operator in a testosterone filled environment, working hard to prove to Sinners (and the whole crowd) what a woman can do a man’s job just the same or even better. She landed on the Sinners tour bus, after her brother Dave was left paralyzed in a previous accident which I’m pretty sure you may remember from Hot Ticket; and since he can’t go back to work until he is fully mobile again, his baby sister Rebekah just suits the job. Her next goal is to make a heavy metal band like them sound out of this world, so since day one, she’s done nothing work her ass off.

Oh, but I forgot to mention: Also since day one she started lusting for Eric Sticks.

Well, no, scratch that. She had LUSTED (even before day one) for Trey Mills, who she considered her ultimate fantasy man. What she doesn’t know though, is that Trey has his own philosophy when it comes to lust and hooking up with hot women (and men) and Rebekah can’t help but feel a little bit disappointed when she realizes her fantasies can’t (or actually will not) be fulfilled with Trey. Oh but wait! Eric Sticks is not that bad looking and of course, he can serve as a fantastic substitute until she overcomes her sexual frustrations and Trey finally decides to take the bait. (Not!)

Eric on the other hand DID lust after her since day one.

We all know Eric. He’s the musically gifted voyeur drummer who enjoys live porn.

And we ALL love Eric just being Eric.

What we possibly didn’t know is that Eric is a very sweet and caring man who suffers something that A LOT (I dare to say MILLIONS)of men suffer across the planet and the fact that Olivia Cunning decided to include this in the storyline just makes it (in my opinion), a lot more credible and real. To be quite honest, I’ve never read a book about an absolutely hot male character who struggles with this particular issue.

Which one? You may ask, well, I won’t spoil it for you! Ha! Read it and you will find out.

I think this story is not only about finding a HEA, but it has to do a lot more with legit concerns in people’s life, struggle with finding the perfect sexual connection and dealing with old fashioned family traditions.

We see a lot more of Eric as a man with a remarkable talent, a desire to become somebody in life after he had basically nothing but his willingness to learn music. We meet Rebekah, who besides being Eric’s perfect match, also shows everybody (including her mother) that her choice of career and lifestyle is what she is sticking with and she intends to shine as bright as the highest star in the skies to prove herself.

Eric and Rebekah’s journey seemed to be a little bit predictable from the start, but suddenly presented the most perfect twist for a marvelously well written hardcore love story like this. I have to give Mrs. Cunning a lot of kudos for making this an intense ride full of laughter, steamy make out sessions, raunchy sex and friendship bonds that only demonstrates her complete mastership of hot erotica writing.

Cowboys Make Me Happy! While waiting for One Night Rodeo, “Wrangled & Tangled” by Lorelei James

Mrs. James is everything I can ask for in a writer. I absolutely adore every single book / story she has written, and, I know it’s a bit early to countdown for One Night Rodeo, but I couldn’t help myself to remember how happy all these cowboy stories have made me since last year that I decided to give these guys a try with “Long Hard Ride”. I never looked back, and I’m so glad I didn’t:

After a year full of EXCELLENT cowboy books, I had to wait approximately 304 days to read the one, I could finally call EPIC. Not only for the flawless writing, but for the absolutely gorgeous love story built behind it.

When I read Corralled like 6 months ago, I was not too impressed. But don’t get me wrong, not because I didn’t like it, but because I expected Mrs. James would go over the top and beat the McKay’s with her Blacktop Cowboys, however I do admit I compared it too much with Long Hard Ride (I could not help myself from thinking about Channing and Colby and Trevor when I read the story of Lanie, Kyle and Hank) but at the end it has absolutely NOTHING to do with it and I was pretty pleased and the book left me with a warm fuzzy feeling.

Along came Saddled and Spurred and it blew my mind. Literally. If you have not had the chance to read it I honestly don’t know what the heck are you waiting for. That one was not your average cowboy book. It has a message about trust, loneliness, fighting for what you want, overcoming all kinds of obstacles and with Mrs. James writing style, which allows you to place events in real time and possibly build your own image of characters and environments, it was not that hard to see reflected a picture of the main characters in your average hot guy and beauty queen like girl. To me, it has been one of the best books I’ve read in years.

But this one… I can only say that every single time I opened it to read little bits, my heart literally wanted to pop out of my chest. THIS is what I call a real love story.

We have to sayings in Spanish which I attempt to translate the best I can:

DONDE HUBO FUEGO, CENIZAS QUEDAN, which applies to Janie and Abe’s story.

Having been in a relationship for several years and becoming friends with an ex is really an accomplishment. Many see it awkward, others just avoid that possibility altogether. For me, who I can say I have a friendly relationship with who I consider being the love of my life, it’s not impossible, and at the end it’s actually satisfactory in many ways, cause you get to prove yourself mature enough to follow on. In my case there is no love left to rebuild anything, but I have seen cases where there is, and it can actually be way better than before. So this time, Mrs. James hit the jackpot. This is the story of a woman who even though loved her husband, needed to find her true self first. It’s well said that you can’t love others if you don’t love yourself first and accomplishing personal goals (like college) is a very good way of proving it. It is also shown in Abe, who saw and understood this need in his wife and also realized he needed to do the same. So it was painful, but wise at the same time to let her go. Eight years later, with a more mature way of seeing things, they can come back and work things around their life in a different way, for that alone, Abe and Janie actually give a great lesson of forgiveness and true love kept in a safe place in the heart throughout the years.

So the other one of my grandma’s lessons of life, fall around the popular DEL AMOR AL ODIO HAY UN SOLO PASO, which applies to Renner and Tierney.

If I would have a penny for every time Ive heard that and found out it’s true, I would be a freakin’ millionaire. I’ve seen it so many times in my 31 years of life it’s not even funny. It even happen to me. You hate somebody so much. This person annoys your guts but at the end, fatal attractions is more powerful and it overcomes the feeling. I pictured myself as a Tierney. Geeky, not very feminine, I’ve never been in the spot were guys feel immediately attracted to me. I’m not a man magnet and I look nerdy, teen-agish if you want to, cause I love to dress comfy, I hate make up, I cant stand heels and I wear my hair tied up all the time, got no social life, I’M FOREVER READING A BOOK. The difference is that I hate numbers and I am a people’s person. (For a powerful reason I studied Public Relations.) However, for some men, simple girls like me are what they need to mend their lives. Maybe the geeky part of us is what attracts them more. Sometimes simple is a new way of meaning beautiful.

Mrs James: You have done it again and this time, YOU WENT OVER THE TOP.

Many authors have done the attempt on mixing 2 stories in one book, with low success on captivating the audience. I don’t want to mention some cases because it’s pointless, but for somebody like Mrs. James, it became so easy and worked out so well, that none of the stories compete with the other and both keep you expectant.. All the little elements make this a story to share and to cherish. I am beyond words this year on how much I simply worship her ideas and her hands for writing such amazing stories. Its been because of her that I actually went to a real rodeo for the first time this past October, and have set my mind on one day giving myself a break and checking out NOWHERE, WYOMING, where cell phone reception sucks and there is more to see other than buffalo’s.

Mrs. Cunning, you keep ROCKING! – Sinners on Tour Book 2 – Rock Hard

You have not read about CRAZY-STUPID-OVER-THE-TOP-INSANE-LOVE until you read this book.

Once again, PRAISE TO YOU OLIVIA CUNNING!!! i have no idea where have you been hiding all these years. This is a book that EVERY romantic fan NEEDS TO READ. In fact, I would consider it a MUST.
As many of you will possibly agree with me, I thought  Sed was a total jerk on the first book, the way how he discarded women, his carelessness, the way he talks, the way he acts, everything was a cocktail of more and more bad attributes for Sedric Lionheart. When I finished Backstage Pass I could only think how cool it would it be to see Sed suffer because from the outside he did deserve it. But OH HOW WRONG WAS I! and thank you so much Mrs. Cunning cause YOU MADE HIM REDEEM HIMSELF like the ROCKSTAR he is!!! In the best way possible and in the funniest most loving situations anybody could think about. I have to say, Sed is quite a character; dealing with a hardheaded woman like Jessica he no wonder drives everybody crazy trying to get her back in his life!
Jessica left Sed when she realized he was way too addictive for her, and back then he was just beginning his career with Sinners. He had no money, no luxuries, no fans. He had an old beat up van and all the possible talent to make something of himself and his band mates. Jessica then decides to leave him, and though she is heartbroken she knows it’s for the best. What none of them realized is that a few years later, they would meet again in TOTALLY different circumstances, and even though she is struggling to pursue her law career, she is determined to accomplish it. Even if she has to STRIP to get there, something that Sed, (after not seeing, or knowing about her for so many years), just can’t tolerate and explodes against the whole crowd before letting his Jessica show herself to any other man. From there, until you read the most BEAUTIFUL MARRIAGE PROPOSAL E*V*E*R, please don’t miss a single line in this book. It has EVERYTHING a modern contemporary romance should have. I mean it. EVERYTHING. Adventure, drama, friendship, loyalty, VEGAS!, and EXTREMELY HOT scenes you actually KNOW you want to read about!
This story is a true ROLLERCOASTER! And speaking of rollercoasters, I think I do like a little tiny bit of ROCK once in a while. The PERFECT song for this book is even described in a very Beavis & Butthead way by no others than L.A’s own Red Hot Chili Peppers 🙂

Just because YOU ROCK Olivia Cunning! – Sinners on Tour Book 1 – Backstage Pass

And I can barely wait for Trey Mill’s book!

I have absolutely no words, no words AT ALL! Well, actually I do: This story has reached my top 5 for this year!
Ok so i was browsing through amazon 2 nights ago, trying to spend the remaining amount of credit I had for a returned item. So i saw the cover of book 2 “Rock Hard” and said well, that guy looks “OK” and the tittle looks promising, and its only $0.99 cents. But then i noticed it was book 2 (man! I cant read a book # 2 in a serie without buying book # 1) and, even tho i was already way passed my book limit for this month I said, what the heck, ill buy it. AND ITS BEEN THE BEST 8$ ANYBODY COULD’VE SPENT.!!!!! at the beginning I was like, well, another groupie story… and take into consideration that I TRULY HATE HARD CORE METAL ROCK AND ROLL, I’m  a die hard R&B / Rap / Hip Hop fan (I have never even met somebody born in LA in the 1980’s who doesn’t like rap). So then I’m reluctant to read this thinking ME, ROCK? a book about a rock band? And that’s when I decided not to judge the book by it’s cover. My great surprise while reading the first few pages, was to find a funny scene with your average guy and his friends who all together belong in a band, a 28 yr old dude who being the son of a “famous guitarist” of the 60’s is doing all he can to succeed without him, (Ok so in Brian’s case, Beverly Hills teens DO NOT have a lot of privileges like you would think) the psychologist who actually needs psychological help because of past life traumas, band members who live the wild life and the adventure of being famous but also realize they had to work HARD to get there. Mayhem combo. FAN-FREAKIN’-TASTIC!
I still couldn’t put a face on this dude though. I though about his tattoos, so it was so hard to put a pretty face on a rockstar, that I end up doing something you just DO NOT DO while reading about a heavy metal band, and put them the faces of the only “rock” band that actually attracts me: Tokyo Hotel! (I know, I know, NOTHING like Sinners), but hey, I’m  a huge fan and even tho i don’t speak German (and Bill Kaulitz does look like a girl sometimes) i put his face on Brian Sinclair, and IT WORKED! mostly cause Brian wears heavy black eyeliner as Bill Kaulitz does (but I’m talking about the Bill Kaulitz PRE-MAKE OVER, still long hair Bill). To me, even tho he looks like a girl sometimes, he is absolutely stunning.! Wait until he reaches 30 and hes gonna be AMAZINGLY gorgeous! Ok let me stop the fan girl moment.
Mrs. Cunning, you used the best language, the perfect environment, the timing, scenes, each character and the story itself and made me believe you were actually witnessing the whole thing. You narrated this story in a way few authors can. Few authors who also KNOW so much about ROCK as you do 🙂
Anyway, the story is well written, absolutely entertaining, I CAN JUST PICTURE ERIC BANGING HIS HEAR EVERYWHERE hahahahah I just laughed so much! Explaining how much I LOVED IT and WHY is too short for words, you better get this book ASAP and read it BEFORE book # 3 comes out in November!

Taking a Shot by Jaci Burton

This was a great read, but I’m giving this book 3.5 stars and let me tell you why: (relax! they are absolutely justified reasons):

I still have a problem with her writing style. Mrs. Burton can definitely write a story. She keeps you expectant, and almost nervous cause the drama seems so real, so emotional. The story is absolutely enjoyable and I must admit I could not put this book down. Second book in the year I’ve read in less than 48 hours. HOWEVER, it takes a little while to get used to reading short sentences. I think the short sentence part thru the whole book was too much for me. I’m not saying it’s BAD, I simply have had a problem all my life with reading 5 word sentences.

Second thing I really have to point: Yes, Mrs. Burton ALSO knows how to write hot, steamy, wicked, (did i say HOT?) sex scenes. But i have a HUGE problem with the dialogues between characters. Does this really happen in real life? I just don’t believe that and I’ve read several dialogues of other stories. They just seem played out and over reacted.

Now, the story itself is great. The Riley’s are all awesome people. People you could hang out with, loyal people with an great average life. Tyler as Jenna’s true love and friend of Gavin and Mick is actually a pretty cool dude. I think Ty’s character is one of the BEST character’s she has written about. Ty has kept all his life a sad feeling about his parent’s divorce and has thought this might be a problem when he decided to finally settle and make a life with the woman he loves, which is Jenna. He’s reluctant and scared his parents history might repeat itself all over again with him if he ever falls in love. But at the end Ty admits he’s head over heels for Jenna. Her stubbornness probably does it for him. What I DIDN’T LIKE about this whole story, was Jenna. I’m sorry if nobody agrees with me but you really don’t want to be reading about a girl who’s more hard headed than a grandmother and as nagging as a 5 year old kid. I just couldn’t stand her. She is so insecure, so doubtful, so stressed, so BLIND! OMG i wanted to slap her and beat the living hell out of her! She is NOTHING like she was pictured in the previous 2 books. I swear! I wanted to cry in frustration! NO WONDER THERE’S SO MANY SINGLE WOMEN IN THIS WORLD! including myself! am I THAT annoying? God i feel embarrassed! I really hope nobody has ever though things like that about me cause I can be annoying from time to time, but I am NOTHING like her. I didn’t like Jenna. At all. Now, that doesn’t mean I didn’t like the book! NOOOO! This is, as I said, an awesome story. There is a lot of drama! and a sports bar! and fun people! and karaoke nights! MY DREAMS COME TRUE!, but it has some things i just don’t feel happy about. Jenna’s last minute admittance SHE IS WRONG, saves the whole story tho. Kudos to her for doing that. It really needed to be done that way to rise the story and fulfill readers expectations.

But hey! it’s only my humble opinion. Mrs. Burton, you are a FABULOUS AND PHENOMENAL WRITER!. I would buy all your books blindfolded. I know I’m buying pure magic translated in words.

You can count on my pre order for the next Play by Play <3

Chasin’ Eight By Lorelei James

Well, my first thought on the morning of 6.28.11: I LOVE AMAZON KINDLE.

Second thought was: I love Lorelei James because she writes such cool books

Third Thought: I can hardy wait the sixty seconds it takes to download kindle books to start reading Chase McKay’s story.

I started at 6:00 a.m. PDT on June 28 and finished at 12:32 p.m. PDT on June 29. Of course, I paused to sleep, eat and shower. But I could have stayed awake all night if I wouldn’t have to work the next day.
This is one of the BEST books I have read this year. I repeat it once, twice and as many times possible: THIS IS AN ABSOLUTE WINNER.
And without turning the whole review into a spoiler, I want to point out some interesting things this book has that i didn’t find in her previous ones.:

1. As Lorelei James stated in a recent interview: “this book is different from the rest”. It is. Not only because its not her average friend-lust-passion step book (like others), but because it really gets into the psyche of each character. From Chase’s realization before he hits his 30 (and a brick wall with his behavior) that he MUST turn his life, to Ava’s determination to show the world shes more than a Hollywood bimbo.

2. The way how you will LEARN about the western cowboy life is absolutely incredible. I think i learned more about cowboys in a day and a half reading than i could’ve done by watching a year full of cowboy events on TV. (if i was ever able to find cowboy events on TV here in L.A)

3. The amount of reading you have to complete in order to finally get to a “hot steamy scene” in my opinion, is the correct. More than erotica, this is a ROMANCE book. She wanted to show her readers that she can absolutely build up an expectation. Many will say “OMG HOW COME SHE TOOK SO LOOOOOOOOONG, IT WAS BORING!” well i have to disagree. She kept me expectant of what would happen next. If you are an avid romance reader, you will find this twist in her style very welcoming. It was just the correct amount for the correct time.

4.I just knew some day, she would finally venture out of the WILD WILD WEST to a big city. I just KNEW IT. And of course, she most likely had to be there to get inspiration somehow. I simply worship her turn in the story when they go to the city. each character had a taste from each other lives, and BOTH fitted accordingly.

5. The way how drama was involved, sad parts were exposed and a sense of humanity was projected from certain tragic events, was possibly the most realistic part she has written along all her books. I cried. Literally. Today in the morning while walking on the street reading, i could not hold back my tears. And I cried, because what she described was absolutely true. It could happen to anybody. Once again, she involves cowboy culture during these events and I learned so much about it, that i simply decided to read it again soon.

And finally, even though i do appreciate the knowledge and drama, and romance and passion, I also appreciated the human part. The real contemporary life she has described. Ava’s character is a resemblance of the real deal for many spoiled kids, who not necessarily have to be rich and famous and can be as simple and down to earth as any other mortal.

Mrs. James, if you ever read this, (which i highly doubt, but don’t lose faith of) please know, that your stories have brought back to me, a piece of human basics that i probably had lost long time ago. Each book of yours has had a message for me, and besides LOVE CAN OVERCOME IMPOSSIBLES, they also point that it doesn’t have to come from where you eagerly are looking for it, but from some place you could never expect, just as it has happened in your wild west scenarios.

Raising Kane by Lorelei James

If you would give me the option of picking any would NO DOUBT be Kane McKay…he is the one character that without too many turnarounds, ends up being the man that everybody dreams of. I have to say that this book even though not placed within the time line as it should be, doesn’t distract you from continuity, as you know which one follows and why. All main characters in this book are breathtaking…and the match of Ginger & Kane is just to die for…..<3

Tied Up, Tied Down by Lorelei James

Ok Ok, so I’m trying to catch up with all my pending reviews (while my niece is sitting next to me playing w her Crazy Bone GoGo’s) anyways….Kade McKay is the absolute DREAM of any woman alive, married, single or commited. I know i would definetely change anything currently going for a man like him hhahahaha! i have a weakness for twin brothers that i can’s even describe….but as it is, this book has a little bit of everything you can look for in a romance novel. Love, attraction, sweetness, family ties and importance, hot steamy sex, you name it. The good thing about Kade is that, no matter what his background was, he knows that the moment he met this woman, his life would change and didnt hesitate to make changes from point zero. Men like Kade DO NOT EXIST ANYMORE.or if they do, they are either taken! or loive far away from meeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!! 🙂 anyways, whoever will read this will fall in love immediately with him, and i have to say even tho its all fantasy, it is so worth it.

Long Hard Ride by Lorelei James

My philosophy is simple: GIVE IT THE BENEFIT OF THE DOUBT..even tho i was really not fond of erotica, i read a review somebody left in amazon and i was simple curious…..first chapter and i was absolutely HOOKED..i must say, if somebody hasn’t had a chance to read these or simply doesnt feel identified, i encourage you to do it. GIVE IT THE BENEFIT OF THE DOUBT….yes, you may react like i did when i read the first sex scene…..BUT OMG the way how this lady describes everything and make it look so elaborate wins me big time. I have to say tho, the first book is the only one really considered as erotica, the rest of them even tho they include HOT STEAMY SCENES…they are more romance…and i learned so much about the real cowboy life from her perspective that i never even dreamed of learning. Bonus: they are in a certain way educational if you are really curious about the life of a real western cowboy and forgotten states such as South Dakota and Wyoming…I have read ALL HER BOOKS. every single one and all the anthologies and i would SOOOOO READ THEM AGAIN….
